About

Jay Bulloch, DAOM, LAc, CSMA established Chiron Health & Wellness in 2007 with a twofold mission:

Provide excellent, comprehensive, integrated, alternative health care.
Empower patients with the knowledge and tools necessary to become active participants in the transformation and management of their health and wellbeing.
Because the body is a dynamic and complex organism comprising many interconnected and interdependent systems, resolving pain and achieving good health requires a holistic approach, which includes helping patients understand the root cause of their condition.

Often when people look for a ‘quick fix’, nothing really gets fixed, because the root cause was not addressed. With many medications having negative side effects, ‘quick fixes’ often result in further, more serious problems. In these cases, pain and illness become a recurring cycle, which never fully resolves.

The modalities and services provided by Dr. Bulloch work together in a synergistic fashion to achieve greater results. See Example

A well-known character from Greek mythology, Chiron (pronounced ky’-rahn or kī’ron) was a renowned healer and teacher. Chiron’s name means, “the skillful handed one”, and is linked to alternative medicines such as acupuncture, herbalism, massage, and chiropractic. The emblem for Chiron represents holistic understanding.

While he was accredited with wise, philosophical teaching, Chiron’s wisdom was an earth-centered, practical wisdom grounded in that which is useful, such as the practical uses of plants and herbs. Chiron was the teacher of Asclepius, who was considered to be a demi-god of the healing arts and stands at the forefront of modern medicine. Hippocrates, the founder of classical Greek medicine, was trained in the healing temples of Asclepius.

Chiron was also a tutor and mentor to many of the great warrior heroes of the classical age, including Achilles and Hercules. His teachings were about fulfilling one’s ultimate potential.

Chiron was a centaur (half horse, half man). Being a creature that is part animal (representing the dark, natural, instinctive and primal aspects) and part human (representing the rational, intellectual, and spiritual aspects), the story of Chiron illustrates the body-mind-spirit paradigm, and it is about bringing greater awareness to the shadow self and unconscious attitudes, perceptions, habits, and behaviors that can be the true origin of chronic pain, disease, and illness.

As a story that is about raising awareness and going through a conscious healing process, the story of Chiron represents the wisdom, patience, and mastery of the inner self and unconscious that is needed to bring about true healing and the realization and fulfillment of one’s ultimate potential.
